The VALCam Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera is compatible with all major photo ID software packages and applications supporting TWAIN interface. Connect the hardware, run the auto setup program and you are ready to go. Full control of pan, tilt, zoom and brightness is immediately available from the user interface via mouse or keyboard.
The VALCam Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera makes it easy to take perfect image captures in any environment, even in very dark rooms! Simply hit the capture button and the camera will auto adjust, the auto light will go on, and a high-resolution image with perfect skin tones will be obtained. All light hardware, mounting brackets and control cables are included.
A software developers kit (SDK) is available to allow software developers to integrate the VALCam Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera into their applications. Zoom, pan, tilt, focus, iris, gain and color temperature can all be controlled through the user interface. When properly integrated with the provided auto light, the VALCam Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera provides video captures of the highest possible quality, even in the most adverse conditions.

Component Quality: All VALCam systems are designed with the highest quality components. Although the material costs are greater, there is no compromise of video quality. Unlike other systems that use lower grade materials, Video Labs uses the highest quality lenses and camera components in class.
Motorized Optics: The VALCam PTZ has motorized optics that allows pan/tilt/zoom control (8500-630) or zoom only control (8000-628). All motors are fully controllable from the mouse or keyboard with software selectable speed adjustments. The motors are rugged and will not wear out.
When using the SDK, the motor controls can be configured for automatic camera positioning.
The VALCam PTZ only uses optical pan/tilt/zoom so resolution is never comprised; other systems that use digital pan/tilt/zoom reduce resolution.
Flash and Auto Red Eye Reduction: VALCam systems include a high intensity flash that swamps out ambient room lighting for consistent image quality in any environment - even completely dark rooms - and perfectly captures images from 1.5 to 20 feet.
The VALCam flash is more powerful and less irritating than led and incandescent lamp options (TransCam). And, enjoy the absence of red eye! The position of the flash on the VALCam PTZ eliminates red eye.
In addition, adaptors are available for professional flash options.
High Quality Live Display: The VALCam PTZ displays live video at 640 X 480 at 30 frames per second for a realistic live preview. Other systems have no live display or display video at small screen sizes at less than 30 frames per second, providing for a choppy, unattractive live preview. The SDK allows the images to be displayed at any resolution, anywhere on the screen.
Fast Image Capture: VALCam PTZ captures non-flash images in a second and flash capture in 2 seconds for fast, efficient image acquisition. This can be compared to other systems that can take up to 25 seconds.
Camera Cropping: VALCam Pan-Tilt-Zoom is the only system that offers real time cropping for both preview and capture. Users can set cropping dimensions of the VALCam to match the picture box on the card design and eliminate the software cropping step in some applications.
Flesh Tone Controls: VALCam PTZ has separate red, blue and color intensity colors for flash and live preview. These controls have a fine granularity for perfect adjustment of flesh tones. Unlike hue and saturation controls found on other cameras, the VALCam provides for uncompromised adjustment.
Separate controls are provided for flash and live preview for the upmost flexibility.
